PUNE: On Sunday, the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) held peaceful elections for the position of teachers' representatives. Eighty percent of the election has been completed across 45 polling centres in Pune, Ahmednagar and Nasik.
The Senate received 79.84 percent of the votes, while the Education Council received 80.12 percent.The counting of votes for the elections will begin at 8am on Tuesday, January 10, in the hallowed precincts of the University.
Ten representatives will be elected amongst the teachers for the assembly of Savitribai Phule Pune University. A total of six representatives will be elected to the Vidya Parishad. In addition, three department heads will be elected to various boards of studies from the college's department heads.
