BARAMATI: A case has come to light wherein a three-year-old girl met a tragic end due to a freak accident on her birthday.

The deceased has been identified as Arhat Thorat. In this case, Sanket Prakash Khaladkar, a resident of Nangaon, Daud district, Pune has been detained on the basis of a complaint given by one Shubhangi Kamble.

According to the information, after celebrating Arhat's birthday, the son of Pramod Thorat and the plaintiff's niece went to see an event organised by the Baramati Buddhist Youth Association at the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Statue Memorial, yesterday, October 9, around 9.30 pm.

Apparently, the plaintiff was walking along ST Stand Chowk on the Indapur Road along with Arhat and her family in front of Jai Shivam Hotel. While they were moving ahead after crossing an iron angle lying on the road, suddenly a motorcycle came at a high speed and hit the angle. The child sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot.
