PUNE: Deputy Commissioner of Police Vivek Patil has ordered the suspension of a police constable from the city Police force for allegedly raping a young woman with the lure of marriage. The police constable against whom an FIR has been registered had allegedly threatened the woman of broadcasting the video on social media.

The suspended accused has been identified as one Police Constable Arfaz Arif Shaikh. Allegedly Police Constable Shaikh had raped the young woman under the false pretext of marriage. An FIR has been registered against suspended Constable Arfaz Shaikh at the Kondhwa Police Station after the girl lodged a complaint about the sexual assault.  

At the Shivaji Nagar Police Headquarters, Deputy Police Commissioner Vivek Patil ordered the suspension of police constable Afraj Shaikh from the police force purporting that Sheikh's behaviour tarnished the image of the police force and disrupted discipline.
