50,000 autorickshaw drivers on Pune RTO's radar for noncompliance of recalibrating their meters

PUNE: From September 1, 2022, Pune RTO had increased the autorickshaws fare in the cities of Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and Baramati. Along with the fare hike, the autorickshaw drivers were also given time to re-celebrate their meters. However, due to noncompliance of this diktat, it is reported that nearly 50,000 autorickshaw drivers  are on the radar of the Pune RTO. Action will now be taken against the errant autorickshaw drivers. Initially, although RTO  had extended the deadline from November 1 to November 30 and then further extended it from December 1 to January 31, it is inevitable that action will be taken against those autorickshaw drivers who still haven't calibrated their meters.
