First electric AC double decker bus joins BEST fleet

MUMBAI: The first electric air-conditioned double decker bus arrived today at the Colaba depot of BEST. There are 65 seats in the bus and 76 people can travel by the bus at a time. What is special is that the bus has two stairs and the bus looks like the double decker bus in London. The passengers will have to spend ₹6 for travelling a minimum distance of 5 kilometres. 



A special facility for communication between the driver and conductor for passengers’ security has been set up. Smart card facility and CCTV cameras will be in the bus. At present, the buses will operate from CSMT to Nariman Point, Colaba to Worli and Kurla to Santacruz.
