Crime Branch Unit 5 of Pimpri Chinchwad Police arrests six accused charged under MCOCA, one minor detained

PUNE: It has come to light that a team of Crime Branch Unit Five of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police has arrested six youths who had been charged under MCOCA.These six, including a minor were on the lam when the Unit Five team nabbed them and detained a minor. The arrested accused had been charged under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act  (MCOCA) and detained the minor.  


The arrested accused have been identified as Rohit Shivputra Kamble a.k.a. Sonkamble (19), Sanket Lahu Madikhambe (21), Harshal Vitthal Dhumal (22), Kratik Gorakh Shinde (22), Shyam Subhash Kamble a.k.a. Shanya (19), all residents of Talegaon Dabhade, Maval and Nilesh Khandu Gaikhe (35), a resident of Kamshet, Maval.


According to the police information, the team of Unit Five received intel that Rohit Kamble, an accused in a case of murder and charged under MCOCA at the Talegaon Dabhade Police Station, was going to visit Jijamata Chowk in Talegaon Dabhade. Accordingly, the police laid a trap.  However, the police became suspicious when the accused started running away.  The team gave chase  and caught up with  him. When questioned by the police, Rohit Kamble revealed the names of the other accused too.The police arrested Sanket Madikhambe, Harshal Dhumal Shinde and detained a minor along with them. Also, another accused Sham Kamble a.k.a. Shanya has been detained from the Talegaon Dabhade area and Nilesh Gaikhe from Kamshet.  


The arrests were made by a team led by Sub-Inspector Rahul Koli under the supervision of Senior Police Inspector Manoj Khandale of the Crime Branch Unit 5.
