Accused defrauds plaintiff of ₹46 lakh under the pretext of exporting onion abroad, an FIR was registered at Bharati University Police Station

PUNE: On the pretext of exporting onion to foreign countries by pretending to be a big onion trader, a person was cheated of ₹46.33 lakhs. An FIR has been registered against both of them in Bharti University Police Station.


The accused have been identified as Siddappa ALS Bhandari and Gajendra Siddappa, both residents of  Karnataka). In this matter, Swapnil Bhagwan Belhekar (31), a resident of Dattanagar, Narhe has filed a complaint. 


According to police information, the accused became acquainted with the plaintiff Belhekar for business purposes.  The accused impersonated a big onion trader.  After gaining Belhekar's trust, he was lured to send his goods abroad. The accused repeatedly took large quantities of onion from the plaintiff saying that it would draw in huge profits. However, that suddenly did not happen and the Sidappas defrauded Belhek for approximately ₹46.33 lakhs.
