Boy dies after falling into 11-feet deep borewell in Karjat Taluka
PUNE: A shocking incident took place wherein a boy fell into a borewell at Kopardi in Karjat taluka. The deceased has been identified as Sagar Budha Barela, who fell into the borewell at 6 p.m. on Monday. He was removed from the borewell after a rescue operation that lasted until 2.30 a.m. Five NDRF units were involved in this rescue operation. The boy appeared to be 11 feet down in the borewell. To rescue him, two JCBs were used simultaneously.
A team from the Karjat Nagarpanchayat's fire brigade, primary health centre, and subdistrict hospital were stationed there. The boy was rescued at about 2:30 a.m. According to the district disaster management department, he was already dead at the time.
