PUNE: Earlier today, the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) held a press conference regarding the launch of EV fast charging stations on six highways in western India. The EVs can be recharged in just 30 minutes at this station. After this recharge you get a range of up to 125 kms. These fast charging stations have also been set up on the highways of Pune, Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Solapur, Nasik, Kolhapur, Mumbai and Shirdi. PS Ravi, Executive Director Incharge, Abbas Akhtar, Shubhankar Sen, Akshay Wadhwa were present at the inauguration.
For the unversed, this is the sixth phase of TV charging station being set up by BPCL and the first phase in the western region. The fast chargers adhere to the CCS Two protocol and are part of BPL's initiative to address range concerns among electric vehicle drivers. All EV customers will be able to use EV fast charging stations facility through pay-per-use online service. the fast chargers can be used without any human intervention and support staff can be requested, if needed. Bharat Petroleum has also started In and Out Convenience Stores at important fuel stations on highways for the convenience of customers.
