PUNE: The Sessions Court has granted bail to the autorickshaw driver who had molested an 18-year-old girl. She had hired his autorickshaw when she was molested. First Class Judge SV Nimse passed this order while granting him his bail on a bond of ₹15,000. The incident took place on March 16, 2023 while she was travelling from MIT Kothrud to the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU).

The arrested accused who made bail has been identified as Sachin Sanjay Jagtap.  An 18-year-old girl had filed an FIR in Chhaturshringi Police Station in this matter. 

As per the police report, the young woman had hired accused Jagtap's autorickshaw from MIT Kothrud to SPPU.  During this period when she rode his autorickshaw, the accused sexually assaulted her. He  molested her by touching her obscenely. Then grabbed her mobile phone and saved his own number in it.

After the accused was arrested, the court remanded him to police custody. He was then produced before the court after the police custody ended. The court granted him bail.
