Global Coffee Chain appoints Puneite Laxman Narsimhan as Starbucks' new CEO


LONDON: Laxman Narsimhan (55) a business executive of Pune origins will soon be appointed as CEO of the global coffee chain Starbucks. He takes over from the iconic CEO Howard Schultz in OOctober, this year. Earlier, he had served as the Chief Executive of the UK-based group.


Narsimhan earned his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering Pune (COEP). Later, he pursued MA in German and International studies from the Lauder Institute of the University of Pennysylvania.


Laxman Narsimhan worked in McKinsey for 19 years. Later, he took over Chief Commercial Officer of PepsiCo.
