MUMBAI: It has been revealed that the Health Minister Tanaji Sawant has announced an inquiry into the kidney racket at the Ruby Hall Clinic Pune will be conducted under the chairmanship of a retired judge.  A committee of expert government and non-government doctors will be established under the chairmanship of a retired judge.

MLA Ram Satpute raised a question in the Legislative Assembly regarding the kidney racket through an agent at the Ruby Hall Clinic Pune, and revealed the shocking case of selling the kidney of a poor woman who worked as a dishwasher in Kolhapur.  

After the kidney case came to light, the government had revoked the licence of the Ruby Hall Clinic Pune for organ transplants.

Satpute demanded that an FIR be filed under the Organized Crime Act against the doctors and agents along with the owner of the Ruby Hall Clinic Pune. On this, Health Minister Tanaji Sawant announced to form a committee of expert government and non-government doctors under the chairmanship of a retired judge.
