Jodhpur youth who threatened Salman Khan sent to police custody till April 3

MUMBAI: A Rajasthani youth, who was arrested in a joint operation by Mumbai and Jodhpur Police, was produced before a Magistrate Court which sent him to seven-day police custody, an official said here on Monday.


According to reports the man, who threatened to murder the superstar via an e-mail has been identified as one Dhakad Ram Bishnoi. He was detained by police in Rajasthan on Sunday.  


Station House Officer (SHO), Luni police station, Jodhpur Ishwar Chand Pareek revealed that the threat e-mail was sent from Jodhupur. 


Mumbai Police forwarded the information to Jodhpur Police. The email was sent by Dhakad Ram, a resident of Jodhpur. 


Not just that, from the SHO's statement, it has also come to light that the accused has even threatened to kill Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s father via a separate email. 


After the threat mail was received, the Mumbai police had registered a first information report (FIR) against gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar.


The Mumbai police have apprehended a man from Rajasthan in connection with an email threatening actor Salman Khan that was received at the latter's office here recently, an official said on Sunday.


The man, a resident of Rajasthan, was nabbed by the team of Bandra police station and is being brought to Mumbai, an official said. The complaint about the threat e-mail was recently lodged at the Bandra police station by one Prashant Gunjalkar, who according to police, frequently visits the Bandra-based residence of Salman Khan and runs an artist management company. Recently, when Gunjalkar was present in Khan's office in Galaxy Apartment, he noticed an email had been received from an ID 'Rohit Garg'.


The sender of the e-mail, written in Hindi, said: 'Goldy Bhai (gangster Goldy Brar) wanted to talk to Salman Khan face-to-face to close the matter', adding, 'Agli baar, jhatka dekhne ko milega (You'll see something shocking)', the police reported.


After a detailed technical investigation into the case, the police received information about the accused's whereabouts, following which a team was sent to Rajasthan and the man was apprehended. 


An FIR under the Arms Act has been registered against accused Dhakad Ram Bishnoi, who has several criminal cases registered against him.
