PUNE: The sickle-wielding gang is once again active in Pune and deadly attacks have started taking place all over the city. And they have no compunction about going after each other. One such  incident took place in the Hadapsar area of Pune wherein a member of a sickle-wielding gang was stabbed to death by rival gang members. Apparently, the attack came about as revenge for a murder that took place two years ago.  The perpetrators carried out the attack saying: 'A kill for a kill!' This incident took place near School Number 32 on the afternoon of Match 29, 2023, that is, Wednesday around 1.30pm.

The deceased youth has been identified as one Shubham Bhonde. A complaint has been filed by Pradeep Dinkar Deokar (22), a resident of Hadapsar. In this case, an FIR has been registered against Om Bhandari a.k.a. Pintu  (23), Sagar Ghayatdak (19), Rajan Lawand (22), Meghraj Shitole — all residents of Malwadi Hadapsar.  

For the unversed, Bhonde had allegedly murdered one Aniket Shivaji Ghaytadak (19), a resident of Malwadi in Hadapsar in 2020. He had also been to jail as the prime accused of the murder. Currently, Shubham Bhionde was out on bail.

According to the police, the accused, Pradeep Deokar, along with Shubham Bhonde was returning home in an autorickshaw. Apparently, the accused attackers rode in on two bikes and accosted them. Allegedly, they dragged Shubham out of an autorickshaw on the street and attacked him with a chopper, stating 'You have murdered Aniket, now here's our response to that murder!' 

The accused involved in this grisly incident have a police record. An FIR has been registered against the four youths in this matter at the Hadapsar Police Station.
