PUNE: The leopard attacks are growing each day. It has come to light that such incidents are taking place due to the leopard population entering human settlements. A similar incident has come to light from Dhuvoli village in Khed taluka, wherein a youth had gone to bring grazing cattle in a field when he was attacked by a leopard. In this leopard attack, youth died on the spot.

The deceased youth has been identified as Ajay Jathar (17). The incident has created an atmosphere of panic in the area.

As per the information received, the Jathar family lives in Dhuvoli village of Khed taluka. Ajay had gone to the field to fetch grazing cattle with a friend around 7.30 p.m. on Friday. While he was carrying the cattle, the leopard, who was hiding in the bushes, attacked Ajay, and he died on the spot. Ajay had just appeared for his Class XII exams.

As soon as they learned about the incident, Forest Department personnel immediately rushed to the spot. They thoroughly inspected the spot, and further action is being taken in this case.
