Palghar Excise Department busts racket selling country liquor being smuggled between crates of bogus eggs, inventory worth ₹18.03 lakh has been seized

MUMBAI: An incident of smuggling country liquor has come to the fore wherein the Palghar Excise Department busted a major smuggling operation of prohibited country liquor hidden between crates of plastic eggs and sold in Maharashtra.. They have successfully busted the racket and arrested the accused involved in this case.

 

The Palghar Excise Department has carried out this operation at the Waghote toll plaza on Manor Wada Road, in which inventory worth ₹18.03 lakh was seized.

 

Five hundred sixty plastic egg trays were placed on the front side of the tempo truck so that no one could notice this liquor smuggling. Sixteen hundred plastic eggs were seized from the 560 egg trays. An FIR has been registered against the two in the case, and the tempo truck driver has been arrested while another person is absconding and is currently being searched by the excise department.

 

The accused arrested in the case has been produced before the court and remanded into police custody until March 18.
