PUNE: The strike by government and semi-government employees also includes employees from Sassoon Hospital. Like other government employees, the employees of Sassoon Hospital also went on strike, but now the dean of Sassoon Hospital, Sanjeev Thakur, has appealed to retired nurses to return to work. All efforts are being taken to ensure the smooth functioning of work at Sassoon Hospital.
Today, there were 128 admissions and 1176 OPDs in a day. Thirteen major and 24 minor operations were carried out. Of these, the deaths of 21 serious patients have been recorded. After the start of the strike, new employees have now joined the department, where there was a shortage of staff. With this, fifty percent of the employees have returned to work. Care is also being taken to ensure that each department continues to function 24 hours a day.
