MUMBAI: The state government has given a Diwali gift to its employees. All employees are going to get their salary before Diwali.
The employees will be given their salary on October 21. Diwali is starting from October 22 and the proposal to give salaries and pension to employees and retired employees respectively, has been approved by Chief Minister Ekanth Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Generally, the salary of October is disbursed in November. However, since Diwali is from October 22, a decision was taken to disburse salary before the festival starts, which will help employees to do shopping.
This will also benefit employees of universities recognised by zilla parishad, aided education institutes, agricultural universities and non-agricultural universities. Instructions have been issued to submit salary bills of all employees to the treasury office.
