Tremendous win for Ravindra Dhangekar in Kasba constituency, Dhangekar defeats BJP's Hemant Rasane by 11,400 votes

PUNE: Ravindra Dhangekar, candidate, Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), has won a massive victory in the Kasba Assembly Constituency by-elections.  He defeated BJP's Hemant Rasane by 11,400 votes.

 


The election was held because the Kasba Constituency seat was left vacant due to the untimely demise of former MLA Mukta Tilak. The Kasba constituency was considered to be a stronghold of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Congress has achieved success after a hiatus of 29 years. Even in the peths, which are considered to be BJP's right, Rasane lost ground. Ravindra Dhangekar took the lead in all rounds.
