Pune Rural Crime Branch Police Sub-Inspector Shivaji Nanvare makes it to the summit of Mount Everest

PUNE: Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Shivaji Nanvare of Loni Kalbhor (now Haveli), who is working in the local crime branch of the Pune Rural Police Force, has climbed Mount Everest, the highest mountain peak in the world with a height of 8,848 meters.  Mount Everest is a very difficult mountain to climb. But what kind of man would give up, with the help of his indomitable will Shivaji Nanvare planted the Tricolour on the summit of Mount Everest.

PSI Shivaji Nanvare, a native of Karmala Taluka of Solapur District, is currently posted as Police Sub-Inspector in the local Crime Branch of Pune Rural Force. A mountaineer at heart, PSI Nanware prepared extensively for the expedition and successfully completed his mission by climbing Mount Everest on Thursday, May 18, 2023.

Due to his feat, another pillar of honour has been erected in the foundation of the Pune Rural Police Force. The Everest expedition was planned by Ranragini Suvidha Rajendra Kadalag of Maharashtra to climb Mount Everest. During this campaign, PSI Shivaji Nanvare was selected on behalf of the Maharashtra Police Force.

Throwing light about his achievement, Police Sub-Inspector Shivaji Nanvare recalled, "I was posted at Gadchiroli district, when I became interested in mountaineering. That interest has been painstakingly nurtured despite a busy schedule while performing my regular duties as a police officer. It is essential to have mental strength along alongwith physical capability to climb Mount Everest. The high altitude reduces the oxygen in the air as well as in the body. So it becomes tiring even during a regular walk. However, with determination and self-confidence, this campaign has been successful."
