A talathi drowned in the Pazar Lake, Bhor Taluka

PUNE: A youth working as Talathi (a clerk or a paid, government-appointed official), lost his life in the Pazar lake at the Varve Khurd village of the Bhor Taluka. The accident took place on Monday morning. The deceased has been identified as one Mukund Tribankrao Chirke (35), a resident of Nasrapur, Bhor and a resident of Majalgaon, Beed. Mukund used to go for a walk with his friends every morning. On Monday morning too, Mukund and his three friends went for a walk and then ventured into the lake for a post walk swim in the Pazar Lake of the Minor Irrigation Department at the Varve Khurd village.  Suddenly, Mohan began to suffocate while swimming. Within a few moments, he began to drown. His friends on the river bank alerted the villagers, however, by then the tragedy had taken place as Mohan drowned in the lake.  A rescue team launched a search operation and his body was fished out from the water in the afternoon. Sub-Divisional Officer Rajendra Kachare, Tehsildar Sachin Patil, Divisional Officers Sachin Kandapelli,  Vidya Gaikwad and Police Sub-Inspector Srikant Joshi inspected the site.
