PUNE: On Tuesday, the Maha Metro administration conducted a successful test run of a metro train between Range Inn Car Depot and Range Hill Metro Station. The next phase of metro has been completed. Due to this phase, the full capacity metro service will be available to Pune residents soon.
A Metro Car Depot has been constructed at Range Hill (behind the Agricultural College) for the maintenance of trains on the Pune Metro Pimpri Chinchwad Mahanagarpalika Metro Station to Phugewadi Metro Station route.
Also, a metro car depot has been constructed at the site of Kothrud Hill Vive Park (formerly the Garbage Depot) for the Ramwadi to the Vanaz route.
Now all the works of Range Hills Metro Car Depot have been completed, at this place, Metro has tested the Metro from Range Hill Car Depot to Range Hill station on Tuesday. At 5.15pm, the train left Range Hill Depot and at 5.35pm, the train reached Range Hill station after covering a distance of about 1km. The trial run of the train was completed as planned and on time. Also, the total area of the depot is 12.1 hectares.
The Metro property development will be done in this car depot. Therefore, Pune Metro will get 'non-fair box' income.
