Electric Shivai buses will ply on the Pune-Mumbai route from December 24

PUNE: Electric Shivai buses will ply on the Pune-Mumbai route from December 24. The buses will run on the Dadar to Pune Railway Station route via Chichanwad, Parel-Swargate, Thane-Swargate and Borivali-Swargate routes. A 100 additional buses will be operated on this route.

The ST Corporation has decided to run electric air-conditioned Shivai buses to reduce fuel costs while ensuring a

pollution-free travel. One hundred and fifty (150) such buses will be inducted into the Corporation's fleet in phases. Fifty buses will be introduced in the first phase and 100 buses in the second phase. For the unversed, two of 50 buses were recently operated on the Pune-Nagar-Pune route.
