Maharashtra FDA to cancel the licence of Johnson and Johnson baby powder

MUMBAI: Maharashtra FDA has cancelled the licence of Johnson and Johson baby powder. FDA has also stopped the manufacturing and selling of product. It has came to notice that, particular baby powder has PH value above the limit which is decided for infants.


Maharashtra FDA has collected two samples of Johnson and Johnson baby powder. One sample was collected from Pune and other sample was collected from Nashik. Results of the test did not give the postive result as PH value did not match specific value decided for infants.


Johnson and Johnson company has claimed that, they would stop selling baby powder globally in 2023. They have planned to move forward for cornstarch baby powder. Strong decision was taken when most of the company sales were ended in US and Canada. As a part of world wide portfolio assesment, Johnson and Johnson company has decided to switch to all cornstarch based products.


Our transition will simplify our product offerings and meet the required needs of customers. Company further added are cornstarch based powder is already sold in many nations.
