Petition filed in Bombay HC seeks governor’s removal

MUMBAI: A petition has been filed in the Bombay High Court seeking Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s removal. The petition claims that the governor has disturbed people's unity and peace by his comments. 



A criminal PIL filed in the Bombay High Court has sought impeachment proceedings under Articles 61 and 156 of the Constitution of India. The petition has sought the removal of the governor under Sections 61 and 156.

 


The petition mentions that the governor has made controversial statements against Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Savitribai Phule, and Jyotiba Phule. The petition has been filed by advocate Nitin Satpute on behalf of petitioner Deepak Jagdev.



The Bombay High Court has admitted the petition under the number CRPIL/19909/2022.
