Smack! Maharashtra State Women Commission slaps Baba Ramdev on his statement about women

PUNE: Baba Ramdev has come under the line of fire by the Maharashtra State Women Commission for his controversial statement about women at an event in Thane. The Commission has sent him a notice. 


Rupali Chakankar, Chairperson, Maharashtra State Women Commission, 

has said in this notice that he should clarify his statement within three days.


The notice said that the statement made by him has hurt the dignity and honour of women, and his statement has been met with strong reactions on social media. In the notice sent to Baba Ramdev, the Maharashtra State Women Commission has said that there have been complaints against him and he should give an explanation within three days.  


For the unversed, at a function in Thane on Friday, the yoga exponent had said, “Women look good in saris, women look good in salwar suits too, and in my eyes, they look good even if they wear nothing!” The sentiment has not gone down well with the made by the yoga guru and entrepreneur  regarding his sentiment about women. He has been roundly criticized at all levels and brought him under the strobe light of the State Commission for Women.
