Indore-based NGO organised a Clothes Donation Driver for actor Ranveer Singh after his nude photoshoot

INDORE: An Indore-based NGO organised a Clothes Donation Drive in protest of actor Ranveer Singh's recent nude photoshoot for a tabloid. The videos from these protest showed men standing around a large picture of the actor from the shoot in question, and dropping clothes in a clothes hamper behind it.

The NGO accused Ranveer Singh of outraging the modesty of women at large, it said, “These kinds of acts should be opposed strongly — if it isn't opposed, then second and third rank actors will also follow suit for  cheap publicity, which will make a bad situation worse.”

Ranveer had shared the pictures from the photoshoot on Instagram. The photos were praised by many while many had roundly criticized it too. A case has also been filed at the Chembur Police Station in Mumbai against the actor for outraging the modesty of women and for being a poor influence on the youth.

The Mumbai police has booked the actor under sections 292 (sale of obscene books), 293 (sale of obscene objects to young persons) and 509 (act intending to outrage modesty of women) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with Section 67A of the IT Act, which deals with publication of any material that contains a sexually explicit act or conduct.
