PUNE: A heinous incident has come to light wherein a man allegedly kidnapped and murdered his wife and then buried her body in a sugarcane field to get rid of the evidence. The Daund police has arrested the accused and registered an FIR of kidnapping and murder against him.
The murdered victim has been identified as Surekha Santosh Pawar while her husband, the arrested accused, has been identified as Santosh Ahirya Pawar (28). Pawar has been charged with kidnapping and murder. One Chandebai Nahiraj Bhosle has filed a complaint in this matter. Based on which, the Daund police have registered an FIR of kidnapping and murder against the accused husband.
As per the information received from the police, the husband kidnapped his wife over a dispute. He then killed her and buried her body in a sugarcane field.
After the police arrested the husband for killing his wife, he confessed to her murder. He said that he had kept the dead body buried in a sugarcane field in a farmland owned by Walunjkar within the jurisdiction of the Lonarwadi village in Daund Taluka.
After this revelation, when the Daund police went to the spot and inspected the body, it was identified by the relatives of the deceased.
