''Warkaris should be provided with adequate water, health, and sanitation facilities during Ashadhi Wari Palanquin Ceremony!'' - Chandrakant Patil, Guardian Minister

PUNE: State Higher and Technical Education Minister and Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil issued directives that warkaris should have adequate water, health, and sanitation facilities during palanquin ceremony. He also informed that all the necessary precautions should be taken to avoid the problem of heat waves, as Palkhi is leaving one month earlier this time.


He was speaking at a preparatory meeting held for the Ashadhi Wari Palanquin Ceremony 2023 at Vidhan Bhavan in Pune. Revenue Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil was present through an online meeting. The meeting was attended by MLA Dattatray Bharne, Sanjay Jagtap, Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, Pune Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey, Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Pune Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik, Special Inspector General of Police (Kolhapur Range) Sunil Phulari, District Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, and others.


Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil further added that, ''Warkaris may face problems due to heat as Palkhi is leaving early this time. For this, adequate ORS stock, medicines, and drinking water tankers should be kept. The availability of water should be checked from time to time, and the number of ambulances should be increased. Patil has ordered that all teams and systems be kept ready to deal with the emergency situation.
