Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, also known as the Warren Buffet of India, lived his life on his own terms — and had fun whilst living it to the fullest!

MUMBAI: A net worth of ₹40, 000 crores, known as the Big Bull of the stock market, the ironically cool investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala lived his life on his terms. 


A video of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala has gone viral on social media wherein he is seen in a wheelchair singing the dirty 'Kajrare Kajrare' from the movie Bunty aur Babli starring the Bachchans. Since  he was diabetic, his feet were constantly swollen, making it a Herculean task for him to walk. His impromptu jig on his wheelchair  speaks volumes of his indomitable spirit. In the above mentioned video, Jhunjhunwala is seen with wife Rekha, close friends Utpal Seth, Amit Goel and several family members.


Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was never the one to stand on ceremony. Case in point, two of his photos gained notoriety. One, when he met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman wearing slippers. Second, a few days ago, he met Prime Minister Modi wearing a rumpled shirt. This time, his shirt became the subject of all discussions! 


Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was born on July 5, 1960. He graduated from Sydenham College, Mumbai and then earned his degree as a Chartered Accountant.


He began dabbling in the stock market with an investment of just ₹5,000. Back then, when Rakesh Jhunjhunwala began trading in the stock market, the Sensex index was around the 150 mark. Currently, Sensex is trading around 60,000 marks.


Rakesh Jhunjhunwala heard his father and friends discussing the stock market. From his father, he learnt about stock market transactions.  His father told him that in order to invest in the stock market, it was necessary to read the newspaper every day.
