Unit One of the Crime Branch arrests drugs peddler at Sadashiv Peth, cannabis worth ₹5 lakhs seized

PUNE: It has come to light that the Crime Branch of the Pune Police caught a drug dealer in Sadashiv Peth. They seized from him cannabis worth ₹5.19 five lakhs, along with sharp weapons such as swords, axes and knives.  


The arrested accused has been identified as Sagar Subhash Modak (43), a resident of Orchid, Natu Baug, 1367, Sadashiv Peth.


Police officer Aniket Babar of Unit One of the Crime Branch, Pune Police received confidential information that a person was selling cannabis in the vicinity of Natu Baug at Sadashiv Peth. Based on the intel, a police team laid a trap and apprehended Modak. Upon interrogation, Modak revealed to the police that apparently, apart from 352 grams of cannabis, he had sharp weapons in his possession. The police confiscated from Modak three swords, two kukris, one sattur, one axe, one rapi.
