PUNE: The police have registered a case against the criminals for abusing a woman living separately from her husband and trying to kill her by immersing her face in a toilet bucket filled with water.

According to the information provided by the Lonikand Police, an FIR has been registered against one Shubham Sambhaji Patil (30), a resident of Bakori.  

Apparently, an argument erupted between the victim and the accused. The plaintiff had been separated from her husband for the past six months and was living with her 10-year-old son. Allegedly, Shubham Patil took advantage of the woman's situation by sexually abusing her and impregnating her. He then allegedly cast aspersion on her character and used it as a ruse to assault her.

In the complaint filed by the victim, she had alleged that he tried to kill her by immersing her face in a toilet bucket filled with water in front of her 10-year-old son.

The Lonikand police have registered a case of rape and attempted murder and the investigation is on.
