Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seizes 400 fake notes of ₹500 from Khadki Bazar, the counterfeit money was being smuggled in from Bangladesh

PUNE: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized 400 counterfeit notes of ₹500 from the Khadki Bazaar. The Pune regional unit officials have registered an FIR of seizure of counterfeit Indian currency notes for smuggling. This action was taken with the coordinated efforts and cooperation of the Pune Customs officials.


Apparently, a man riding a motorcycle was apprehended from the Khadki Bazar Lane. The smuggling of 400 fake Indian currency notes totalling to an approximate worth of ₹2 lakh was seized from his person. Two more individuals involved in this operation have been nabbed by the DRI officials.  


Preliminary investigation of the DRI has revealed that it was smuggled from Bangladesh to India.
