PUNE: A shocking case of a five-year-old girl being sexually assaulted by a school bus driver has come to light in Rajguru Nagar. The Khed Police have arrested the driver.

The accused has been identified as Gautam Bhambure, a resident of Bhamburwadi, Khed, who has been arrested by the Khed Police. The five-year-old girl studies at a private school in Rajguru Nagar. The accused Gautam Bhambure was working as a bus driver ferrying school children to and from private schools.

Apparently, on Saturday, when Bhambure was dropping off the victim home, the Echo vehicle stopped at the Bhamburwadi Ghat, near Rajguru Nagar city.

The driver then allegedly sexually assaulted the five-year-old girl. He purportedly forced the girl to touch his private parts. The girl was then coaxed not to tell anyone at home about this by the driver. However, once the little girl reached home, she told her parents about the horrifying incident.

The accused has been arrested by the village police under the POCSO Act.
