Gun wielding gangs becoming a headache for the Pune Police

PUNE: To reduce hooliganism in the city, the Pune city police have started using the MCOCA. While it is expected that crime will reduce, three consecutive shootings in one week have shaken not only the city of Pune but also the police force.

Therefore, orders have been given to all the police stations to deal with these armed gangs and put an end to this gang violence, during which they will directly report to the commissioner. The senior office has also issued a circular late on Saturday night that the concerned police station and crime branch should be investigated in parallel.

This week saw incidents of firing at Koregaon Park, Lohegaon and Bopdev Ghat. Taking serious note of it, Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta held a meeting late on Saturday night. Joint Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, Upper Commissioner of Police Ramnath Pokale and Deputy Commissioner were also present in this meeting. According to sources, talking to 'DCN', instructions have been given to all the police stations to track down this gang of gunmen and arrest them, and all the departments of the crime branch have been given instructions.
