PUNE: Many people are of the opinion that there is no need to lodge a complaint if they lose their mobile phones. However, the Shivaji Nagar Police has shown that a lost mobile phone can be recovered. 

On the basis of technical analysis, 20 mobile phones were seized from various states and recovered on behalf of the complainants.

A cyber cell has been established in every police station regarding the cyber complaints of Pune residents. Police Constables Bajirao Naik, Adesh Chalawadi, Policewoman Ruchika Jamdade of the Cyber ​ ​ Cell at the Shivaji Nagar Police Station have compiled data of the lost mobile phones within the parameters of the Shivaji Nagar Police Station and followed it up repeatedly by conducting a series of technical sleuthing. Finally, the missing mobile phones were traced to various locations in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra where they were found to be in use. 

By interacting with the mobile phone users as well as the concerned police stations in various languages ​​such as Kannada, Telugu, Hindi and Marathi, 20 mobile phones worth a total approximate of ₹2.5 lakh have been recovered.  

The seized mobile phones were also returned to the complainants.
