Man assaults Mahavitaran personnel who came to collect overdue bill

PUNE: An FIR has been registered against a person for assaulting a Mahavitaran personnel who went to his home collect an overdue electricity payment. The accused has been identified as one Abu Saeed Mohammad Qureshi (42), a resident of Khadki. Vivek Kale, Senior Technical Officer, Mahavitaran, has lodged a complaint at the Khadki Police Station in this matter.

According to the police, Kale, along with his colleague, Nilesh Kadam had visuted Quresh's residencei to collect an overdue electricity bill.

The said electricity bill payment of ₹6,000 was overdue. Qureshi allegedly abused Kale and Kadam after they asked him about the electricity bill.

An FIR has been registered against Qureshi for obstructing government work. This incident is being investigated by Sub-Inspector of Police Anil Rikibe.
