Police arrest gangs who siphoned petrol from tankers in Loni Kalbhor

PUNE: The gangs that used to remove petrol from tankers have been detained in Loni Kalbhor.  


After raiding the hideout of petrol thieves in Kadamwakwasti area, the police seized two tankers and goods worth ₹80 lakhs.



The arrested accused have been identified as 

Dheeraj Vitthal Kalbhor (36), Ameer Malik Sheikh (32), Sachin Bhaurao Suravse (30), Vijay Maruti Jagtap (52), Ramchandra Raosaheb Devkate (41), Issak Ismail Majkuri (42), all residents of Kadamwak Vasti, Haveli Taluka. While Mahesh Baban Kalbhor (42), a resident of Kadamwakwasti has been arrested in the case of providing shelter to petrol thieves.


There are petrol companies in Loni Kalbhor area.  Senior Police Inspector Dattatray Chavan of Loni Kalbhor Police Station and his team got the information that in connivance with the tanker drivers transporting petrol, they steal the petrol and sell it illegally.  Then the police raided there.
