PUNE: The anti-human trafficking unit of Pune police has busted a prostitution racket being operated from the limits of Yavat police station. The police have arrested two people and four women have been rescued.
The accused have been identified as Kirtish Sudhakar Hegde-Shetty (36), a resident of Daund taluka and Rupesh Kisan Jungare (33), a resident of Bhor taluka. According to the police, the anti-human trafficking unit had got information that a prostitution racket was being operated from Nakshatra lodge in the limits of Yavat police station. Accordingly, the police raided the lodge.
In the lodge, doors of iron grills were attached to the windows of the rooms and an escape route had also been made from the back door of the kitchen. Nakshatra lodge is located 200 metres from the main road. Whenever police or any person used to enter the lodge, the management used to inform the women and other staff who used to hide in a nearby field.
The police had received all the information. Hence, they raided the lodge by taking all precautions.
