Social Security Cell of the crime branch busts prostitution racket run on social media in the Kharadi area

PUNE: The police have exposed the ongoing prostitution business by contacting them on social media. The Social Security Cell of the Crime Branch (Pune Police), conducted a raid in Kharadi and detained two young women from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. A pimp has been arrested in this regard, and an FIR has been registered against the accomplice brokers. The person identified as running this racket has been identified as Mukesh Dnyaneshwar More (30), a resident of Charholi, Alandi Road.


The Social Security Cell of the Crime Branch had received information that young women from abroad were being brought to Pune for prostitution and that a gang of pimps was active in the city. The police team then contacted the brokers through a fake account. After their conversation, the pimp dropped the two young women off in the Kharadi area. The police team had laid a trap in the Kharadi area to nab these pimps. Two young women were rescued from the premises of a hotel. Items worth ₹51,000 including cash, a mobile set, and a two-wheeler, have been found in their possession. 


An FIR has been registered against More's accomplices, Vicky and Rahul, by police constable Sandeep Kolge at the Chandan Nagar police station. The women are from Indore and Agra. Senior Police Inspector Vijay Kumbhar, Assistant Inspector Ashwini Patil, Aniket Pote, Baba Karpe, Ajay Rane, Manisha Pukale, Pramod Mohite, and Irfan Pathan took part in this operation.
