Three Shiv Sainiks involved in attack on Minister Uday Samant’s car, get anticipatory bail

PUNE: The three Shiv Sainiks, against whom an FIR had been filed over the incident of attack on MLA Uday Samant’s car, have been granted anticipatory bail. The order was issued by Additional District Judge AS Waghmare. 



The Shiv Sainiks have been identified as Satish Maruti Shelar, Akshay Damodar Walgude and Sunil Bajirao Shendkar. During Uday Samant’s visit to Pune, when he was passing through the Katraj Chowk, a meeting of the Shiv Sena was being held. An attack had taken place on Samant’s car. Some Shiv Sainiks had raised slogans of ‘traitor, traitor’ and attacked the car. The windshield of the car was broken. The driver of the car, Viraj Samant, had lodged a complaint.



An FIR had been registered at the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station. On behalf of Satish Shelar, Akshay Walgude and Sunil Shendkar, Ad Shivam Nimbalkar had submitted an application seeking an anticipatory bail for them. After hearing the arguments of Ad Nimbalkar, the court granted them an anticipatory bail on a surety of Rs 30,000. 


The Shiv Sainiks have been instructed to be present in the police station on the second and fourth Saturday of every month. They have also been instructed by the court to be present, whenever necessary, during the investigation.
