PUNE: Uttar Pradesh Police's Special Task Force (STF) launched a major operation in Pune and arrested Vishnu Mishra, son of Vijay Mishra, local muscleman and former MLA from Bhadohi-Gyanpur, Uttar Pradesh. This action has been taken in the case of gang rape and fraud registered at Gopiganj Police Station. A Lookout Notice had been issued against Vishnu Mishra.
Two years ago, a young woman from Jaitpura, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, filed a complaint about this matter.
On August 2020, an FIR was filed for fraud against Vishnu Mishra in connection with grabbing the firm and house of one Krishna Mohan Tiwari, a resident of Kaulapur. His father Vijay Mishra and mother Ramlali, a former MLA, were also named as accused in this case.
Three days ago, Additional Director General of Police Ramkumar had announced a reward of ₹1-lakh for information on Vishnu. The STF produced Vishnu in the Pune court on Monday and took him on remand, post which they return to Varanasi.
