PUNE: The police have arrested a man who killed his wife so that he could marry someone else despite being in a love marriage. He gave his wife an injection to reduce blood pressure and sugar. 

The husband's name is Swapnil Vibhishan Sawant (23), a resident of Sangvi, Beed. He works as an attendant in the ICU ward of a hospital at Ghotavade Phata (Mulshi). He was in a relationship that led to a love marriage between him and Priyanka Kshetre (22). Five months ago, they both came to stay in Kasar Amboli and rented a room. During this time, Swapnil had an affair with a girl who was a nurse and started planning to marry her again.

But as his first marriage was with Priyanka Kshetre, he could not get married again. So he killed his wife, Priyanka Kshetre, at their residence and falsely tried to take her to a private hospital in Ghotawade Phata for treatment. The doctor there informed the Paud police and reported the sudden death. Priyanka's family had filed a case against Swapnil Sawant for mental torture.

To kill Priyanka, he secretly took dangerous drugs home from the private hospital where he was working. Priyanka was killed by Swapnil, who gave Priyanka two injections to lower her BP and sugar along with some other injections from time to time.
